Magdelena Cacal, 75, is known as the "cat lady of Kahuku" because she feeds stray felines behind the Kahuku Superette store. She also spends a lot of her time recycling bottles and cans. As a daughter of a Kahuku Plantation cane planter, she moved into her rental residence at KV5 in 1994 and paid $150,000 cash for her home in April.
