The book, comprising contributions from staffers in Hawaii, Las Vegas and the Pacific Northwest, is available through the holidays at all Ben Franklin stores in Hawaii.
Cost is $10. Visit benfranklinhawaii.com, acehardwarehawaii.com and hmstores.com.
Help others with Thanksgiving meal
Looking for ways to reach out this Thanksgiving? These two organizations can use your help:
>> Salvation Army pumpkin pies: The Salvation Army is busy planning its annual Thanksgiving meals offered across the state and could use a hand with its supply of pumpkin pies.
Customers of Anna Miller’s and Zippy’s locations on Oahu can purchase a pumpkin pie for the meals, and the pies will be delivered on Thanksgiving Day. At Zippy’s the pie costs $8.85; at Anna Miller’s, $9.65.
The campaign continues through Nov. 23 at Zippy’s (for inquiries, call 973-0880) and Nov. 27 at Anna Miller’s (487-2421).
>> Lanakila Meals on Wheels: Though there are countless Thanksgiving to-go dinners to select from, Lanakila Kitchen’s package comes with a bonus: It supports Lanakila Meals on Wheels, the effort that delivers meals to Oahu’s seniors.
You can receive the meal hot or ready to heat. It includes a whole roast turkey, home-style smashed potatoes, gravy, savory stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, Nalo greens salad, fresh rolls and a pumpkin pie. Serves eight to 10.
Cost is $99. Pick up 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 27 or 7:30-10:30 a.m. Nov. 28, at Lanakila’s kitchen facility at 1809 Bachelot St.
