Search continues for cruise ship passenger
The Coast Guard joined a search Wednesday for a passenger reported overboard from a cruise shipabout 750miles northeast of Hilo.
An HC-130 Hercules airplane crew flew to the scene from Barbers Point Air Station after the Coast Guard Joint Rescue Coordination Center was notified about 1 p.m. by the crew of the Grand Princess that a 30-year-old American female was overboard.The passenger was last seen about noon.
The cruise ship changed course and was searching for her.
Robber runs off with woman’s cash in Hilo
Hawaii County police are investigating a Nov. 4 robbery in Hilo.
Police said a 43-year-old Hilo woman was walking her bicycle on Mililani Street between Piilani and Hualani streets when a man approached her, demanded money and threatened her. He ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The woman was not injured.
The suspect is described as 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a muscular build, dark brown eyes, very short black hair and a tan complexion. He wore surf shorts and a dirty blue tank top.
