Recently crowned state champions Faith Ma’afala and Alohi Robins-Hardy will show their stuff one more time for a statewide television audience today.
The seniors were selected to compete in the OC16 Senior Invitational today at 5 p.m. at the Mililani High School Gymnasium.
The event, which began on Wednesday, will be televised live on OC16.
Ma’afala and Farrington’s Savanah Kahakai will lead a West squad that will be coached by Alicia Nobriga-Antonio of Campbell and Jon Tom of University.
Robins-Hardy and Hoakalei Dawson of ‘Iolani carry the big sticks for the East team coached by Kelly Ong of Sacred Hearts and Junius Wong of Nanakuli.
The South team, coached by Bryan Camello of Kapolei and Sonja Samsonas of Saint Francis, is stacked with Kahuku’s Adora Anae and Hawaii Baptist setter Jaryn Ramos. Kahuku coach Tehani Fiatoa and ‘Iolani’s Brandon Flores will have plenty of options with their North roster, which features Mililani setter Jordyn Keamo dishing to Punahou’s Remo Gaogao and La Pietra’s Ariana Sattler.
The teams were created by random draw among one senior each from every ILH and OIA school. All proceeds of the event go to the Ronald McDonald House of Hawaii.
