Chinese languageis focus of open house
Learning Mandarin might not be as easy as “yi er san,” but you and your keiki can see how to start while discovering more about Chinese culture at the Chinese Language Learning Center’s Grand Opening Open House and Mid-Autumn Festival next week at the center’s new location.
The free event, set for 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 23 and 24, includes activities such as Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting and knotting, as well as a lion dance team to entertain guests.
Visitors can also learn more about the center, which offers Mandarin language programs for kids and adults.
The center relocated from Queen Street last month and moved into the historical Hoo Cho Chinese School, a Palolo Valley site at 1342 7th Ave. which offered more parking, outdoor space and a garden. Visit cllchi.com for information.
