Training session includes ‘Five-0’ star
Women and children can learn self-defense techniques with "Hawaii Five-0" star Alex O’Loughlin and his fitness trainer, Egan Inoue, at two special seminars at 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday.
The sessions are $300 each, with all proceeds to be donated to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. The 90-minute sessions will teach a form of "nonstriking self-defense" based on Inoue’s martial arts techniques.
Participants will receive a certificate, T-shirt and an autographed photo of O’Loughlin.
The fundraiser is also a celebration of the new 3,000-square-foot Egan’s Training Center at 2700 S. King St., Building A. A grand-opening party will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Donate for typhoon relief on iTunes
NEW YORK » Apple is giving iTunes users a chance to donate to relief efforts for the typhoon tragedy in the Philippines.
Users can go to the iTunes store to donate to the American Red Cross; funds raised will go to help the Asian nation, which has been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan The official death toll is over 1,700, but as many as 10,000 are feared dead and more than 9 million people have been affected.
iTunes has done the same to raise funds for those affected by other tragedies, most recently for Superstorm Sandy. Apple says it was able to donate $2.5 million for Sandy relief based on donations from iTunes users and its own employees.
