CHAI part of Small Business Saturday
CHAI Studio is among local retailers participating in Small Business Saturday this weekend.
The day was created in acknowledgement that few small, local businesses can compete with the slash-and-burn prices offered by corporate chain stores to generate Black Friday sales. Small Business Saturday aims to give community stores a chance to reach more people while encouraging consumers to shop small.
CHAI Studio owner Amerjit Ghag has created gift packs to make holiday shopping easier. "The Girlfriend Gift" ($75), for example, is a set of three nesting velvet cosmetic and coin purse-size bags handmade by artisans in India. The bags are filled with a pair of handmade earrings made from real flowers, four handmade glass bangles and a set of printed emery boards.
The Ward Warehouse store houses an assortment of furniture, home decor, bedding, pillows, throws, custom rugs, glassware, jewelry and clothing made by traditional artisans from around the world, with re-purposed or ethically sourced materials. CHAI Studio is also popular for its body bar, where you can create your own signature scent for perfumes.
