Kalihi woman, 56, suspected of shoplifting
Police arrested a 56-year-old Kalihi woman for allegedly shoplifting at a store in Pearl City.
According to police, the woman entered the store Saturday, placed merchandise in a shopping cart and attempted to leave without paying.
The suspect was stopped by an employee, who called police. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft.
Man airlifted after injury falling off horse
A 64-year-old man was taken by helicopter to a Maui hospital Saturday after he was injured falling off his horse.
The man got a cut to his head and was complaining of back pains, fire spokesman Lee Mainaga said.
The rescue took place on an unimproved road makai of Piilani Highway between mileposts 17 and 18, after rescue workers received an alarm at 4:35 p.m.
