1. Missing Warrior
» Situation: Army 0, Hawaii 0, 13:27 remaining, first quarter, Hawaii ball, first-and-10 at own 46
» The Play: Before the snap of Hawaii’s first play, wide receiver Scott Harding runs off the field, a finger pointed skyward in tribute to running back Willis Wilson, who died at Sandy Beach in the early-morning hours, apparently of drowning. Joey Iosefa rushed for a 1-yard gain.
» Impact: Playing with emotion and passion, Hawaii jumped out to a 14-0 lead.
» Harding: "We knew we could not lose tonight. There was no choice. We had to win for Will."
2. Jump pass
» Situation: Hawaii 21, Army 7, 2:22 remaining, second quarter, Hawaii ball, first-and-goal at Army 1
» The Play: Taking a direct snap, Iosefa runs to the line of scrimmage, then completes a jump pass in the end zone to wide-open tight end Harold Moleni.
» Impact: Operating out of the wildcat formation, Iosefa, a former high school quarterback, completed his one pass of the season to give Hawaii a 28-7 halftime lead. He later rushes for an 8-yard touchdown from the same formation.
» Army coach Rich Ellerson: "I can’t say we (were prepared for Iosefa in that formation). We treated him like if 15 (Ikaika Woolsey) was in the game. But having a defense isn’t the same as getting him stopped."
3. Dancing bear
» Situation: Hawaii 35, Army 28, 1:10 remaining, first quarter, Hawaii ball, first-and-10 at own 39
» The Play: Iosefa bursts through arm tackles at the line of scrimmage, rolls through the second level and jukes for more yards at the end of a 32-yard gain.
» Impact: It’s the key play in a seven-play, 76-yard drive. For the game, Iosefa rushes for 154 yards and Steve Lakalaka for 104 as Hawaii outgains the nation’s top rushing team 285 to 254 yards.
» Hawaii TV color analyst Dick Tomey: "He’s like a dancing bear."
4. Schroeder scores
» Situation: Hawaii 42, Army 35, 10:02 remaining, fourth quarter, Hawaii ball, first-and-10 at Army 6
» The Play: Quarterback Sean Schroeder rolls left. Using a block by Lakalaka, Schroeder runs into the end zone.
» Impact: Schroeder, who passed for 322 yards and three touchdowns, accounts for the final touchdown of his career and the Hawaii season. It is needed as Army scores another touchdown later to make the final score 49-42.
» Schroeder: "I didn’t know if Steven was going to leak out for a pass. And then I saw him blocking and that’s when I decided to take it home."
5. Dee-fence
» Situation: Hawaii 49, Army 35, 8:52 remaining, fourth quarter, Army ball, first-and-10 at own 43
» The Play: CB Dee Maggitt recovers a fumble by running back Terry Baggett, forced by LB Brenden Daley and Maggitt.
» Impact: Army, which is not adept at coming from behind, loses a fourth-quarter possession trailing by two touchdowns. Maggitt was Willis Wilson’s high school teammate in Seattle and they visited Hawaii on the same recruiting trip. Maggitt encouraged Wilson to transfer to Hawaii.
» Maggitt: "I just wanted to do something big for him, big for Willis. Anything to make him smile down on me."
