Fink leads at Hawaii State Open golf
David Fink shot a 4-under 68 to lead the Men’s Open Division of the Mauna Lani Resort Hawaii State Open on Friday.
Fink is one stroke ahead of Shawn Lu and two strokes ahead of defending champion Dean Wilson. Not all players completed the first round, which was suspended at 5:45 p.m.
Mari Chun posted a score of 74 to lead the Women’s Division after the first round. Amateur Aneka Seumanutafa trails Chun by one shot.
St. Martin’s beat UHH women in hoops
St. Martin’s Chelsea Haskey finished with 18 points to boost the Saints over the University of Hawaii Hilo women’s basketball team 59-45 at Hilo on Friday night.
Brooke Paulson added 15 points for the Saints (6-3), which held all UHH players under double digits in scoring. McKenzie Mangino led the Vulcans (2-4) with eight points.
Sign-ups for East Oahu volleyball clinic
The East Oahu Children’s Volleyball Clinic will hold its annual sign-up for boys and girls ages 7-16 on Wednesday.
The sign-up is at Holy Trinity Church Gym and begins at 3:30 p.m. for ages 6-10 and at 4:30 p.m. for ages 11-16.
The cost is $70 per month and all proceeds are donated to the church. For information, please call club director Steve Capone at 371-1868.
