Male suspect arrested in robbery from car
A 24-year-old man who allegedly broke into a car parked in a Mililani Mauka home garage Monday was caught after a neighbor reported seeing a man inside the car.
Police said the man had searched inside the car belonging to a 42-year-old woman at 3:43 a.m. Monday and had allegedly stolen several items from the vehicle.
Responding officers found the suspect hiding in the area and arrested him at 4:20 a.m. on suspicion of first-degree robbery, first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and two counts of first-degree criminal trespassing.
Boy allegedly spotted at site of UH break-in
Honolulu police are investigating a break-in Saturday at the University of Hawaii at Manoa lower campus.
UH campus security said it responded to a report of a break-in at about 12:35 p.m. at the office of the Hawaii English Language Program in a portable on the lower campus.
A juvenile male was seen in the portable and fled, campus security said.
He is described as younger than 15, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a tanned complexion.
Campus security said a person fitting this description has been reported at other campus locations where minor thefts have occurred.
Video during argument prompts threat
An argument between a 43-year-old man and 32-year-old woman escalated Sunday night when the woman began videotaping the confrontation and the man threatened to kill her, police said.
The argument began in front of their apartment building in Waikiki at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
Police said the woman began recording the argument on her cellphone, and the man pulled out a knife and threatened to kill the woman if she posted the video online.
Police were called, and officers arrested the man on suspicion of terroristic threatening.
