The Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra has a notable lineup of international conductors and musicians lined up for its spring 2014 season, which starts March 16.
A broad range of classical and contemporary compositions will be offered — from Beethoven’s "Coriolan Overture" in March, to Gershwin’s Piano Concerto with Sara Davis Buechner in April. Koto artist Yumi Kurosawa will present the world premiere of Daron Hagen’s "Genji, Concerto for Koto and Orchestra" in May. Also in May, Honolulu violinist and concertmaster Ignace "Iggy" Jang will perform Paganini.
