Ching headlines soccer camps
Six-time MLS All-Star Brian Ching headlines this weekend’s ProXtreme Soccer Camps at Waialae Iki Park.
The camps, for ages 5-14, run Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The cost is $175.
A ProElite Soccer Camp, geared toward elite-level players ages 12 through 14, will be held concurrently Saturday and Sunday. The cost is $240.
Ching, a Kamehameha Schools product and MLS Cup MVP in 2006, was named the managing director of the Houston Dash Monday. The Dash is the newest National Women’s Soccer League franchise.
Other pro players who are scheduled to attend are: Eric Wynalda, Clint Mathis, Tracey Winzen Mathis, and Dwayne De Rosario. Also scheduled to attend are Yuki Ogimi, a member of Japan’s 2011 Women’s World Cup champions, and Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear.
