Monday marks the 111th anniversary of Korean immigration to Hawaii.
On Jan. 13, 1903, many Koreans aboard the USS Gaelic arrived in Honolulu to work in plantation fields. From that day to 1910, more than 7,000 Koreans immigrated to Hawaii.
The United Korean Association of Hawaii will hold a ceremony commemorating the anniversary Monday morning at Pawaa In-ha Park, followed by a dinner event at the Waikiki Resort Hotel sponsored by the Korean American Foundation Hawaii and Korean American Club.

Today, 6:30 p.m.: Moo-yeol runs after Yoo-jung to stop her from going to Soo-hyeok. When Nan-cho sees Yoo-jung with Moo-yeol, she assumes that Yoo-jung’s a two-timer and warns her to stay away from her son. Seeing Yoo-jung and Moo-yeol together just drives Soo-hyeok to push the golf course project along. Confused by Moo-yeol’s actions, Yoo-jung asks him about it, and he finally confesses that he’s in love with her. Nan-cho tells Moon-do that his meeting with Eun-sook a few nights ago was only a ploy by Eun-sook to get under her skin.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Nan-cho tells Yoo-jung to stay away from Soo-hyeok. Moon-do has the girl his sons are fighting over investigated and finds out that she’s Director Han’s daughter. Eun-sook and her mother are up in arms when they find out about Yoo-jung, and they want her and her mother out of the house. After all the insults, Yoo-jung ends it with Moo-yeol. She is so sad that she gets drunk and passes out. Soo-hyeok finds her and takes her with him. When Moo-yeol calls Yoo-jung’s cellphone, Soo-hyeok picks up.

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: In tears, Eun-sang tells Chairman Kim that she still likes Tan, but won’t see him if he disapproves. Tan begs Won to save him from the pain of losing Eun-sang. Young-do tells Eun-sang he never wants to see her again.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Tan asks Eun-sang’s mom for permission to date Eun-sang. But she says no, saying Eun-sang’s already been through enough pain. But Tan’s mother comes to his aid. The Prosecution Service starts an investigation on Zeus Hotel and Young-do’s father. Chairman Kim collapses, and Ji-sook seizes the opportunity to take over Jeguk Group.

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Hyun-soo tells Hana not to indulge Gwang-mo, that he’s an irresponsible cad who left another woman at the altar. When Seul-gi visits her maternal grandparents, she tells them that Tae-won doesn’t want to marry Chae-rin.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m: Tae-won leaves home when Tae-hee tells him that his mother called Eun-soo’s in-laws. Hyun-soo tells her parents that Tae-won’s family won’t send Seul-gi to them for visits when Tae-won gets married.
