Diving coaches, swimmer at QB Club
University of Hawaii diving coaches Mike Brown and Anita Rossing, and Pac-Five swimmer Summer Harrison will speak at Monday’s Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon.
Brown, who is assisted by his wife, Rossing, are both entering their 14th year at UH.
Harrison, who attends Mid-Pacific, was recently named most valuable swimmer at the Kalani Invitational.
The Quarterback Club will meet at the Maple Garden restaurant. Lunch, which is $15, starts at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.
Chaminade edges Hawaii Pacific
Lee Bailey hit the go-ahead basket with a minute left to help Chaminade beat Hawaii Pacific 83-82 in a Pacific West Conference men’s basketball game on Saturday at the Moanalua High gym.
Kuany Kuany had 22 points for Chaminade (8-6, 5-1). HPU (10-3, 5-2) had the ball with five seconds left but couldn’t get off a shot before time expired. Darry Jones Jr. led HPU with 21 points.
» Brittany Hale and Veanne Navarro both scored 17 points off the bench to help the Hawaii Pacific women beat Chaminade 103-68 at Moanalua.
Morganne Comstock had 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Sea Warriors (9-4, 5-2). Lilia Maio scored 20 points for Chaminade (1-11, 1-5).
