51 pot plants taken in raid on Big Island
A Puna man has been charged after Hawaii County vice officers found 51 marijuana plants and dried pot in a raid last week in the Hawaiian Acres subdivision, police said Monday.
Raymond Eastridge, 45, was charged with second-degree promotion of marijuana, second-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $7,250.
Vice officers served the search warrant Friday at a home on Road 1 and confiscated the marijuana plants, ranging in height from 1 to 3 feet, six ounces of dried processed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Another 45-year-old man was arrested but released without charges.
Hanalei facility won’t accept mixed waste
The Hanalei refuse transfer station is not accepting mixed waste until further notice because of an electrical problem with the control circuits of the mixed-waste compactor, Kauai officials said Monday.
All recycling services are operational, including scrap metals; appliances; propane tanks; used tires and residential used motor oil and motor oil filters for recycling; and residential recyclables in the Kauai Recycles drop bins. For more information, call 241-4837.
