Police apprehend alleged bank robber
A 55-year-old Waipahu man was arrested after allegedly robbing a bank in his neighborhood Monday morning.
Police said the suspect entered the Waipahu bank just before 11:30 a.m. and passed a note to the 23-year-old bank teller demanding money. The suspect fled on foot but was later located at his home.
Witnesses were able to identify the suspect, and he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
Suspect in sexual assault is arrested
Police have arrested a 59-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a 32-year-old woman last month.
The suspect, who does not have a local address, was identified as an acquaintance of the victim.
The assault allegedly occurred between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 19 and 1:30 a.m. Dec. 20.
The suspect was arrested Sunday evening at the Queen’s Medical Center on suspicion of second-degree sexual assault.
