>> Kolten Yamaguchi, Konawaena ’11: The Pepperdine junior was named to the preseason All-West Coast Conference team as a catcher. Yamaguchi led the Waves’ starters last year with a .309 average and finished with 34 hits and 18 RBIs.
>> Travis Shaw, Saint Louis ’11: The St. Martin’s (Wash.) junior first baseman was an honorable-mention selection to the NCBWA preseason All-West Region team last Wednesday. Shaw hit .331 with the Saints last year with seven doubles, two triples and a home run.
Men’s basketball
>> Matt Feldman, Punahou ’10: The Baruch (N.Y.) College senior played 25 minutes and finished with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in a 79-69 win over York last Wednesday.
Women’s cross country
>> Courtney Honda, Kamehameha ’09: The Whittier (Calif.) senior helped the Poets earn NCAA All-Academic honors for the sixth consecutive year. The team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.33.
Women’s gymnastics
>> Tiana Montell, St. Joseph ’11: The UC Davis junior took first in the all-around in Friday’s win over Sacramento State, with a personal best score of 39.050 — only the third gymnast in school history to beat the 39-point plateau more than once. She earned a 9.775 (seventh place) on vault, a 9.725 (sixth) on bars, a 9.8 (sixth) on beam, and a 9.750 (third) on the floor exercise.
>> Mackenzie Sato, ‘Iolani, ’10: The Cornell senior tied for first on the floor exercise with a 9.8 in Saturday’s five-team meet, helping Cornell finish second. She also earned a 9.625 on the bars.
>> Randi Lau, Thompson Academy ’11: The Penn State junior took fifth place (39.00) in the all-around in Saturday’s win over Ohio State. Lau earned a 9.850 (second) on vault, a 9.775 (seventh) on bars, a 9.600 (11th) on beam, and a 9.775 (sixth) on the floor exercise.
>> Kristi Hayashida, Christian Education Institute ’13: The Seattle Pacific freshman earned a 9.700 (ninth) on floor and a 8.950 (16th) on beam in Saturday’s meet against Utah State and Air Force, with SPU finishing third.
>> Traci Villanueva, Moanalua ’13: The Seattle Pacific freshman earned a score of 8.40 (18th) on bars in Saturday’s tri-meet against Utah State and Air Force.
Softball
>> Kylee Oshiro, Moanalua ’11: The Pacific (Ore.) catcher went 4-for-6 with a double, home run, three runs scored and three RBIs in an opening-day doubleheader sweep of Northwest (Wash.) on Saturday.
>> Quirena Natividad, University ’12: The Pacific (Ore.) shortstop finished 3-for-6 with a double, triple and two runs scored in the doubleheader.
>> Kaitlyn Shikada, ‘Iolani ’11: The Pacific (Ore.) third baseman doubled, scored two runs and drove in a run in the doubleheader.
>> Kylee Yamamoto, Hawaii Baptist ’12: The Pacific (Ore.) left fielder went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a 12-1 win over Northwest (Wash.) in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

>> Thomas Cheong, Moanalua ’13: The Washington freshman finished in sixth place in the triple jump with a jump of 45 feet, 7.75 inches at the UW Invitational Indoor Meet on Saturday.

>> Joshlyn Noga, Kahuku ’11: The Charleston Southern junior threw a personal-record 45 feet, nine inches in the discus to finish in third place out of 33 entrants at the Bob Pollock Invitational over the weekend.
>> Sophie Curatilo, Moanalua ’11: The Seattle University junior finished second with a personal-record time of 9 minutes, 59.46 seconds in the women’s 3,000 meters at the UW Invitational Indoor Meet on Saturday.
Men’s volleyball
>> Keenan Paulos, Saint Louis ’11: The Holy Names (Calif.) outside hitter had nine kills, a block and an ace in a three-set loss to Sacramento State on Saturday.
>> John Mayer, Maryknoll ’13: The Holy Names freshman middle had nine kills, three blocks and an ace against the Hornets.
>> Mike Gomez, Maryknoll ’10: The Holy Names senior had three digs, a kill and an ace against Sacramento State.
>> Luke Motoyama, Pearl City ’13: The Hawks freshman had five digs and an assist against the Hornets.
