Hawaii in fourth place at Matador Invite
The Hawaii women’s golf team is in fourth place after Monday’s first round of the Matador Invitational in Simi Valley, Calif.
The Rainbow Wahine recorded a team total of 619 after the first day of competition, trailing host Cal State Northridge (590), BYU (612) and Cal Poly (617).
Senior Charlee Kapiioho-Sagum fired rounds of 77 and 78 to post an 11-over 155 and is tied for 14th place to lead Hawaii. Freshman Raquel Ek (78-78—156) is a stroke back, followed by Kelli-Anne Katsuda (157), Isabella Leung (158) and Brianna Becker (161).
Matador teammates Arinda Bhanaraksa and Clarris Guce and USC’s Victoria Morgan are tied for the lead at even-par 144 entering today’s final round.
Aztecs swat Rainbow Wahine in tennis
San Diego State downed Hawaii 6-1 in women’s tennis Monday in San Diego, Calif.
Paulina Petriskova notched the lone victory for the Rainbow Wahine (2-7, 1-1 Big West), defeating the Aztecs’ Hailey Johnson 6-4, 6-1 in singles.
