Alleged purse snatcher arrested in Kapolei
An off-duty police officer helped arrest a suspected purse snatcher at the Kapolei Shopping Center on Monday.
Police said a woman, 34, saw the suspect taking her handbag from a shopping cart at about 3:45 p.m. The woman called police and chased the 49-year-old suspect.
An off-duty police officer saw the woman chasing the suspect and also called police dispatch.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft and unauthorized possession of personal information.
Burglar sought in Feb. 3 Makiki Inn heist
Honolulu police are looking for the man who burglarized the Makiki Inn restaurant on Wilder Avenue on Feb. 3.
Police released security camera video of the suspect, with a shirt over his head and carrying a black shoulder bag, as he searched for items at 2:51 a.m. Feb. 3.
Police said he took cash from the register before leaving.
