He walked one and struck out six to get the win in the Spartans’ only victory in the series.
>> Kaiana Eldredge, Punahou ’10: The Kansas senior hit .417 (5-for-12) with a double, two runs and three RBIs in a four-game sweep of Brigham Young over the weekend.
>> Michael Suiter, Punahou ’11: The Kansas outfielder had four hits in the series against BYU, including a three-run homer in Saturday’s 11-10 win in 10 innings.
>> Robert Kahana, Campbell ’11: The Kansas right-hander threw seven shutout innings in a 2-0 win over BYU in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
>> Justin Protacio, Mid-Pacific ’11: The Kansas shortstop had four hits and scored twice in the series against BYU.
>> Kewby Meyer, Kamehameha ’11: The Nevada outfielder hit .333 (6-for-18) with two doubles, a triple and five runs scored as the Wolf Pack finished 2-2 in games against Santa Clara and Boston College over the weekend.
>> Mark Karaviotis, Maui ’13: The Oregon shortstop made his only start of the series against Hawaii on Sunday and was hit by a pitch and stole home to score a run in a 6-5 win in 10 innings.
>> Kolten Yamaguchi, Konawaena ’11: The Pepperdine catcher went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his only start of the series — an 8-4 win over St. John’s on Saturday.
>> Ivan Dilda, Mid-Pacific ’12: The Pepperdine left-hander worked two-thirds of a shutout inning of relief with one strikeout in an 11-1 win over St. John’s on Sunday.
>> Ryan Yamane, Punahou ’11: The Northern Colorado infielder hit .231 (3-for-13) with four walks, two stolen bases and a run scored in four losses to Sam Houston State to start the season.
>> Tanner Nishioka, ‘Iolani ’13: The Pomona-Pitzer center fielder went 8-for-15 with three doubles, two homers, six runs and two RBIs to help the Sagehens win two of three against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps over the weekend.
>> Curtis Martin, ‘Iolani ’10: The Whittier (Calif.) senior threw a seven-inning complete game on Saturday, allowing two earned runs on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts in a 14-3 win over Caltech on Saturday.
>> Kian Kurokawa, Hilo ’13: The Puget Sound reliever picked up the win in the Loggers’ season opener and appeared in two of Puget Sound’s first three games, allowing four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four shutout innings.
>> Troy Kakugawa, Mililani ’13: The Puget Sound sophomore went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in a 6-4 loss to Texas-Dallas on Saturday and went 4-for-14 in the Loggers’ first three games of the season.
>> Tiras Koon, ‘Iolani ’11: The Willamette (Ore.) junior went 2-for-6 with two walks, two RBIs and a run scored in a doubleheader sweep of Lewis & Clark on Saturday.
>> Rolenn Himuro, Punahou ’11: The Willamette (Ore.) junior had two hits and scored twice against the Pioneers.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
>> Lia Galdeira, Konawaena ’12: The Washington State guard had 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in an 80-77 win over Colorado on Sunday. Galdeira had four steals and scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half of an 83-73 win over Utah on Friday.
>> Dawnyelle Awa, Konawaena ’12: The Washington State sophomore had eight points, four assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal with no turnovers in 26 minutes against the Utes.
WOMEN’S GOLF
>> Ciera Min, Waiakea ’13: The Gonzaga freshman, who was the 36-hole leader at the Jim West Challenge, shot an even-par 71 Tuesday in the final round to finish in a tie for second place at 1 over. Min’s 214 tied the third-lowest 54-hole score in school history.
>> Alice Kim, University ’11: The Gonzaga junior finished in a tie for ninth place at the Jim West Challenge at 12 over.
>> Cassy Isagawa, Baldwin ’11: The Oregon junior posted her fourth top-10 finish of the season with a 36-hole score of 1-under 141 to finish in a tie for fourth place at the Peg Barnard Collegiate that ended Sunday. Isagawa has carded nine rounds at or below par this season and leads the team with a 72.1 scoring average.
>> Kacie Komoto, Punahou ’13: The Northwestern freshman kicked off the spring season with a final round 1-over 73 to finish in a tie for 17th place at 5 over at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic that ended Sunday.
>> Kelli Oride, Kauai ’11: The Notre Dame junior finished in a tie for 53rd place at 11 over at the Central District Invitational that ended Tuesday.
WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS
>> Tiana Montell, St. Joseph ’11: The UC Davis junior won the balance beam with a score of 9.825 and took second in the all-around (38.5) in a win over Alaska Anchorage on Sunday. Montell was seventh on the floor exercise (9.6) and bars (9.625) and ninth on vault (9.40).
>> Randi Lau, Thompson Academy ’11: The Penn State junior took fifth in the all-around (39.175) and tied for third on the floor exercise (9.875) in a win over Illinois on Saturday. Lau also finished seventh on the vault (9.750) and beam (9.8) and 10th on the bars (9.750).
>> Jenna Frowein, Punahou ’12: The Stanford sophomore finished sixth on the floor exercise (9.825) to help the 12th-ranked Cardinal upset No. 4 Utah, handing the Utes their first loss of the season.
SOFTBALL
>> Courtney Senas, Mililani ’10: The Florida State outfielder led the Seminoles to a 6-0 record at the Renegade Classic that ended Sunday, hitting .333 (4-for-12) with a double, triple, five walks, five runs, five RBIs and four stolen bases.
>> Jayne Hanawahine, Kailua ’12: The Tennessee State infielder hit .300 (6-for-20) with a double, home run, five runs scored and three RBIs in six games in the Hillenbrand Invitational that ended Sunday.
>> Tayler Shimizu, Baldwin ’11: The Tennessee State junior had four hits and scored three runs in the tournament.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
>> Beth Tsuha, Hilo ’13: The Grinell College freshman won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1 minute, 55.15 seconds and finished second in the 200 individual medley (2:11.16) and fourth in the 100 freestyle (53.86) to help the Pioneers win the Midwest Conference championship on Sunday. Tsuha also swam a leg on the 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams that came in first and the 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay teams that came in second.

>> Breanne Ball, ‘Iolani ’12: The TCU sophomore finished in 21st place in the women’s 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.29 at the Tyson Invitational on Friday.
>> Sophie Curatilo, Moanalua ’11: The Seattle University junior set a personal record with a time of 4:57.57 in the women’s one-mile race to finish in 24th place at the Husky Classic Invitational on Saturday.
>> Kristine Felix, Baldwin ’12: The Washington State sophomore finished in a tie for 10th place in the women’s pole vault with a mark of 4.01 meters at the Don Kirby Elite on Saturday.

>> Paige Tsuruda, Word of Life ’10: The Cal State Bakersfield senior scored two goals in a 7-3 win over Sonoma State on Saturday.
>> Koral Gill, Lahainaluna ’11: The Occidental (Calif.) junior scored two goals in a 6-5 loss to Fresno Pacific on Saturday.
>> Lauren Boyer, Punahou ’13: The UC San Diego freshman scored a goal in a 14-7 win over George Washington on Sunday. She also scored in a 9-8 loss to Princeton on Saturday.
>> Courtney Miller, Punahou ’12: The UCSD goalkeeper ended the Bison Invitational with 15 saves in a 10-9 win over Wagner on Sunday.

>> David Terao, Mid-Pacific ’11: The American University sophomore is ranked No. 10 in the country at 125 pounds after extending his winning streak to 12 matches with two victories on Sunday against N.C. State and Maryland.
>> Patrick Sheehan, Punahou ’11: The New York University junior was named All-University Athletic Association at 184 pounds after going 2-0 with a pin on Saturday to help the Violets win their third straight conference championship.
