Motorist accused of striking pair with car
A Kalihi man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the attempted murder of two people — one of them dragged beneath a vehicle for four blocks.
Police said the man is suspected of running into a 35-year-old man and his 18-year-old female companion in the parking lot of the Waimaha housing complex at 6:45 a.m. Monday. The man was dragged four blocks under the car.
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
Woman hospitalized after vehicle hits her
A 75-year-old woman is in guarded condition after being struck by a car Thursday morning in Kalihi.
Emergency Medical Services said the accident occurred at 9:20 a.m. at Dillingham Boulevard and Waiakamilo Road. The area was closed to traffic for about 30 minutes.
Man pleads not guilty in fatal stabbing
A 72-year-old Waipahu man pleaded not guilty on Thursday in Circuit Court to a murder charge in the stabbing death of a 42-year-old man last month.
Jose Inigo, charged in the Jan. 12 death of Marlo G. Basuel at a Waipahu home, appeared before Circuit Judge Richard Perkins on Thursday via a closed-circuit video link from Oahu Community Correctional Center, where he is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail. Perkins set trial for the week of April 21 before Circuit Judge Glenn Kim.
Suspect is arrested in alleged knife threat
A 34-year-old Makiki woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening another woman with a knife.
Police said that after the threat at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday the suspect followed the victim into an apartment.
No one was injured. Police recovered the knife.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and illegal entry.
