Tsu­tsumi worked on the first show of any genre presented at Kennedy Theatre, “Benten the Thief,” a Kabuki classic performed in English, on Dec. 4, 1963. Wichmann-Walczak is director and producer of this year’s jingju show, “Lady Mu and the Yang Family Generals,” whose final performance is at 2 p.m. Sunday. See my review at www.honolulupulse.com.

PALIKU PERFORMERS TAKE A BRIEF BREAK Director Nicolas Logue and assistant director Barbara Craig, in red, celebrated with cast members Kalena Antone, Sarah Pfaltzgraff and Natalia Gill after the closing performance of “The Charge of ‘Ai‘ai”— a children’s play about family, fishing and conflict in ancient Hawaii — Feb. 23 at Windward Community College’s Paliku Theatre. The play’s cast and crew will reunite for two free “hana hou” performances April 5 at the 2014 Paliku Arts Festival.
