Shim and Dydasco help U.S win
Kamehameha Schools graduates Meleana Shim and Caprice Dydasco played key roles as the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Soccer Team successfully defended its title, capping the championship run with a 2-1 win over Norway on Wednesday in La Manga, Spain.
Shim, who plays professionally for the Portland Thorns and played collegiately at Santa Clara, scored her first goal at the U-23 level just before halftime off a pass by Katie Stengel for a 1-0 lead. Dydasco, who played at UCLA, assisted on what would be the game-winner in the 75th minute, feeding Stengel from about 10 yards out.
