Vehicle in head-on accident located
Police have found the Ford SUV involved in an Aiea hit-and-run case that left a man in critical condition Saturday and are seeking information on the driver.
Police located the 1994 Ford Explorer parked on Waimano Home Road and found damage consistent with the crash after receiving a tip.
The victim was crossing Kamehameha Highway at Hekaha Street when he was hit by a vehicle at 12:24 a.m. Saturday, police said. The driver did not stop. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police are seeking witnesses to the hit-and-run crash.
Suspect sought in sex assault at school
Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 17- or 18-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman at Maili Elementary School last week.
The attack occurred at 4:50 p.m. March 5 in a classroom, where the suspect allegedly grabbed his victim, attempted to sexually assault her and then fled. The suspect is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, with black hair.

Female snorkeler at Hanauma Bay dies
A female snorkeler in her 80s died Wednesday after being transported to a hospital.
Lifeguards rescued the woman about 40 yards offshore at Hanauma Bay on Wednesday morning, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
At about 10:20 a.m., lifeguards administered CPR and other aid. Paramedics responding to the scene took over treatment and transported the woman in critical condition to the hospital, where she later died, authorities said.
Man convicted of murder in 2009 slaying
A Circuit Court jury on Wednesday found a San Francisco man guilty of gunning down Joseph Peneueta in Chinatown in March 2009.
Iosefa Pasene, 26, was on trial for second-degree murder and a firearms charge. He was found guilty on both counts.
It was the third trial for Pasene. Previous juries could not reach verdicts on the charges against Pasene in July 2012 and September 2013. Pasene’s cousin, Zorro Rye, was acquitted in connection with Peneueta’s murder.
