Lewis named Big West player of week
Hawaii’s Danielle Lewis earned the Big West Conference women’s water polo player of the week award on Wednesday after scoring 10 goals over four matches during the Claremont Convergence last weekend in Claremont, Calif.
The utility player, who received the award for the first time in her career, leads the team with 36 goals this season.
Hawaii hosts Long Beach State in a 6 p.m. Big West Conference match Friday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
Sea Lions beat Vulcans in baseball
Matt Jervis drove in three runs as Point Loma Nazarene (12-9, 5-3) defeated Hawaii Hilo 9-4 in a Pacific West Conference baseball game on Wednesday in Hilo. Kyle Watase and Harrison Guiol each had three hits, and Keenan Nishioka drove in two runs for the Vulcans (5-7, 4-4).
