Two fires kept Maui crews busy Friday, but no one was injured in either instance.
On Friday afternoon, fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to a single-family home in Wailea.
The fire was first reported at 12:23 p.m. at a two-story structure at Wailea Ekolu place. Firefighters from Kihei and Wailea found flames rolling over the ceiling and cabinetry of a laundry room inside the home.
The fire was under control by 12:37 p.m. and fully extinguished by 3:47 p.m.

Five crews responded to a report of a brush fire at 6:48 p.m. on the mauka side of Kahekili Highway at Waiehu Beach Road.
When fire crews arrived at about 7:05 p.m., they found a 30-by-40-foot building fully engulfed. The roof and walls had already collapsed, so the fire may have gone unnoticed for some time, officials said.

The cause of the fire was undetermined and the damage estimated at $24,000.
