Mustang Madness marks car anniversary
The 22nd annual Mustang Madness All-Ford Show this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, a classic American muscle car.
The celebration, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mike McKenna’s Windward Ford, also will mark the 35th anniversary of the Aloha Mustang & Shelby Club of Hawaii.
Show entries must have registered in advance for competitions including the Tower of Power and Rumble contests.
The event, at 725 Kailua Road, is a benefit for the Hawaiian Humane Society.
All Oahu car clubs and interested individuals are invited to participate in a canned food drive and cruise to benefit the Hawaii Foodbank on April 19.
One needn’t be a member of a car club nor drive a collectible vehicle to participate, according to organizers.
Organizer Don Johnston encourages participants to gather nonperishable food donations according to the Foodbank’s top five needs, which are canned meats or tuna, canned meals (such as spaghetti, chili, corned beef hash), canned soups, canned vegetables and canned fruits.
Cruise participants will meet at 8:15 a.m. at Bellows Air Force Station Beach Park in Waimanalo, drivers will gather for an 8:45 a.m. meeting, and the cruise to the donation drop-off point at Koko Marina Center will begin at 9 a.m.
