A 34-year-old Honolulu firefighter was charged Friday with allegedly attempting to run down three people near his home with a vehicle.
Carlin Jones of Waikiki was charged with three counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and will make his initial appearance in District Court on Thursday.
He was released on $25,000 bail Friday afternoon.
Dave Koga, spokesman for Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro, said three counts of second-degree terroristic threatening and a second-degree charge of impersonating a police officer are pending further investigation.
Jones was arrested at Leahi Avenue and Pualei Circle near his home at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The three victims are ages 18, 33 and 34.
Police said Jones, who was off duty at the time, allegedly intentionally drove his vehicle toward three men and then threatened them at 5:30 p.m.
