No. 1 USC routs Hawaii in water polo
The No. 11 Hawaii water polo team lost 14-6 to No. 1 USC on Saturday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
The Trojans (18-0) led 10-1 at halftime. Paula Chillida Esforzado scored three goals for Hawaii(13-6). Also on Saturday, Hawaii beat No. 14 Indiana, 9-5. Claire Nixon had three goals and Chillida Esforzado scored two for the Wahine.
HPU softball team sweeps Chaminade
The Hawaii Pacific softball team swept Chaminade, 8-3 and 7-6, in a Pacific West Conference doubleheader Saturday at Central Oahu Regional Park. Kristen Caskey went 4-for-7 with four RBIs in the two games for HPU(13-15, 13-11). Aja Keyes was 5-for-8 for Chaminade (7-13, 6-10).

Hilo baseball splits with Academy of Art
Byron Freitas doubled and drove in two runs to help the Hawaii Hilo baseball team beat Academy of Art 5-4 in a PacWest game on Saturday in San Francisco. Hilo (10-13, 8-8) lost the second game, 4-3.

Lee, Ane headline Quarterback Club
Prep football coaches RonLee and Kale Ane will speak at Monday’s Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon.
Lee is returning to Saint Louis School as its new offensive coordinator. He has been the OC at Kalani since 2010 and also held that post at the University of Hawaii and Saint Louis. Ane led Punahou to a state football title last fall. The Buffanblu have won the last three Interscholastic League of Honolulu titles.
The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. at Maple Garden restaurant. The cost is $15.
