Isle doctor will remove radiation tattoos for free
Local medical laser clinic InkOff.MD has joined the New Beginnings: Radiation Mark Removal program, a national philanthropic campaign that offers free radiation tattoo removal for cancer survivors. The program, coordinated by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, is available year-round.
InkOff.MD’s Dr. W.Y. Chung joins more than 100 board-certified ASLMS members who have volunteered to remove radiation tattoos free for cancer survivors so they can have a new beginning.
Radiation tattoos are tiny marks on the skin used to pinpoint the area of treatment during radiation therapy. Chung uses PicoSure technology, which provides virtually complete removal of tattoos in a shorter time and with less discomfort than traditional lasers.
Patients who wish to take advantage of this offer must provide an official letter from their oncologist or radiologist approving the removal of radiation marks or tattoos.
