At left, a painted wood sculpture, “Hua La V” by Kahi Ching, combines traditional with experimental techniques, resulting in a coconut husklike form. Next to it is "Ohwhyhee" by Kala Kim, made of pohaku and milo wood a piece by Jordan Souza called "Carrot Ki"i," carved from two carrots and one sweet potato preserved in formaldehyde).
