Bloomfield (N.J.) College senior Angie Yoshizu was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference player of the week on Monday for the second time in her career.
The 2010 University High alumna hit .600 as the Deacons split two games each against two of the top teams in the conference in Post University and Georgian Court.
Yoshizu, who is Bloomfield’s all-time career leader in hits, smacked her first home run of the season in her first at-bat of the week. She finished 9-for-15 for the week with at least two hits in every game and scored seven runs.
Yoshizu is the first Bloomfield player in the Division II era (since 2002) to have at least 50 hits in four consecutive seasons and her 240 career hits are fourth-best in the conference in the last decade.
Her 51 hits this season are tops in the conference and she raised her career average to .402.
