Hawaii’s options at guard for the 2014-15 season continue to expand.
The Rainbow Warriors have a new prospect in Dallas Jesuit (Texas) High point guard Brocke Stepteau, who said Tuesday he plans to fly out to the islands in July and join UH as a walk-on.
"It feels really good. I’ve been wanting to make a decision for a while," Stepteau said. "I’ve been talking to Coach Gib (Arnold) for a little bit and yesterday (Monday) I just let him know I wanted to be a part of the UH program."
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Stepteau’s other options were Florida Atlantic, St. Peter’s and Houston Baptist, he said.
UH’s other new options at guard include signees Isaac Fleming and Roderick Bobbitt, as well as walk-on Tyler Harville.
The ‘Bows’ guards slated to return include Quincy Smith and Dyrbe Enos.
UH has also reportedly made a scholarship offer to Newark Memorial High (Calif.) 6-foot-1 point guard Joey Frenchwood.
"I’m liking Hawaii a real lot right now," Frenchwood said. "It feels really good (getting my first offer). I know I want to take a visit for sure. If I like it a lot, I’m sure I might commit. (I want to visit) as soon as possible, honestly."
