UH credit union adds to ATM access

University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union members will be able to use American Savings Bank ATMs without paying a surcharge under a new agreement between the two institutions.

The roughly 100 American Savings ATMs are in addition to about 275 First Hawaiian Bank terminals available to UHFCU members, bringing the number of available surcharge-free ATMs to more than 375 statewide, according to a news release Monday from the credit union.

"This agreement helps us provide another way we make it easy for our more than 29,000 UHFCU members to get cash when and where they need it," said Jeanine Morse, UHFCU president and chief executive officer.

The credit union has nearly $548 million in assets and is the state’s fourth-largest credit union.

It is a federally chartered credit union that serves the faculty, staff, students and alumni association members of the University of Hawaii system statewide.
