The historic Kawaiaha‘o Church is inviting local artisans and craft-makers to take part in its annual King Kamehameha Makeke and Luau Celebration, which is set for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 14 on church grounds near downtown Honolulu.
More than 50 local vendors are expected, but there are still 10-by-10 booth spaces available. All vendors must have vending licenses and other permits. For information on fees and other matters, call the church at 469-3000 or visit www.kawaiahao.org.
Tickets are being sold for the seated luau, at 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and takeout boxed lunches of traditional Hawaiian food. The event will feature a parade at 9 a.m., a white elephant sale and entertainment by the church’s Halau Hula o Kawaiaha‘o, Kaukahi and others.
Tickets are $50 for VIP seating, which includes valet parking on Kawaiahao Street, VIP parade viewing and seating, reserved luau seating and table service. Also available are tickets for $30, dine-in/walk up (all you can eat); and $20, takeout drive-thru only.
