Waialae Avenue lanes to close
Only one lane in each direction on Waialae Avenue between 8th and 9th avenues will be open most of Friday because of construction.
Honolulu Board of Water Supply crews are burying waterlines before the street is repaved. The work starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.
Customers in the area might experience temporary water service loss when crews switch over to the new service lines.
Half of Pali Highway to be shut
Motorists heading to town from Windward Oahu will encounter a closed Pali Highway for much of Sunday, and they should expect delays and seek alternate routes, state transportation officials say.
The Honolulu-bound side of the highway will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday so that crews can make emergency repairs to tunnel light fixtures, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The closure will take place between Kamehameha Highway and Waokanaka Street, and motorists are encouraged to use the H-3 freeway or Likelike Highway as alternate routes.
