Woman pulled from sea dies at hospital
A woman between 70 and 80 years old died at Straub Hospital after becoming unresponsive Tuesday evening in the ocean near the Outrigger Canoe Club in Waikiki, authorities said.
The woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital, an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said.
Honolulu Fire Department spokesman David Jenkins said people with the Outrigger Canoe Club and a lifeguard pulled an unresponsive woman from the water in front of Michel’s restaurant, 2895 Kalakaua Ave. They tried to revive the woman using a portable defibrillator.
Police said she died at the hospital.
City identifies man found dead at beach
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 54-year-old Waipahu man whose body was found Sunday at Pounders Beach in Laie as Charles Fuentes.
The case has been classified as an unattended death pending the results of an autopsy.
Bodies discovered in Waipahu and Manoa
Police are investigating the discovery of the bodies of two men found hours apart Monday on different parts of Oahu.
Both cases have been classified as unattended deaths, pending the results of autopsies.
The body of a man was found at 12:35 p.m. in Waikele Stream in Waipahu. The body of another man was discovered just before 8 p.m. on a hiking trail near University of Hawaii faculty housing on Dole Street.
