» Minnesota’s Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin) moved into fourth place in the latest American League All-Star balloting at catcher last Sunday with 812,865 votes.
» The Boston Red Sox officially shut down Shane Victorino (St. Anthony) from any baseball activities as he continues to try to recover from a strained lower back. » In five starts with Triple-A Pawtucket, right-hander Steven Wright (University of Hawaii) has struck out seven or more three times and hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in any game.
» Left-hander Scott Squier (University of Hawaii) made his professional debut with Batavia in the New York-Penn League on Monday and allowed one run on one hit in two innings with a walk and a strikeout.
» Infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa (Mid-Pacific) made his first rehab start with the AZL Rangers in the Arizona League on Wednesday.
» First baseman Marc Flores (University of Hawaii) hit his first professional home run on June 22 and has hit safely in all five games he’s played with the AZL White Sox.
