JOHN BERGER / JBERGER@STARADVERTISER.COM
Al Harrington, left, emceed the Hawai‘i Friends of Civil Rights third annual First Friday Evening at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum. Harrington spoke with spoken-word poet Kathryn Takara, Friends board members Faye Kennedy and John Henry Nichols, and recording artist Sherry Graham during a break in Friday’s program. Graham, the last to perform, closed with a stirring rendition of “Amazing Grace.”
