Aiea man surrenders after 2-hour standoff
A 45-year-old Aiea man is in police custody after he allegedly threatened his live-in girlfriend Thursday during a two-hour standoff with police.
Police said the couple argued just after 5 p.m. Thursday, when the suspect locked himself in the Aiea house and threatened to harm himself and police. After two hours the suspect surrendered to police. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
Inmate missing from furlough is arrested
An Oahu Community Correctional Center inmate was arrested Friday on suspicion of second-degree escape.
Police said the suspect, 37, was a participant in a work furlough program and failed to return July 14. He was located Friday and arrested but was not charged.
Body found in waters off Ala Moana park
A body was found Friday in the ocean at Ala Moana Beach Park, Emergency Medical Services said.
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m., and the victim is a male in his 50s or 60s.
The body was discovered by a paddleboarder, according to the Honolulu Fire Department. The man was floating inside the lagoon in waters off the tennis court area, HFD said. EMS said the victim was wearing reef-walking shoes and shorts. He was reportedly carrying some kind of bait.
Suspect accused of kidnapping, robbery
Police on Friday arrested a 28-year-old Waianae woman who allegedly kidnapped and robbed a 32-year-old woman.
Police said the suspect restrained the woman and robbed her of her property at 9:14 p.m. Thursday on a Nuuanu street. The Waianae woman was found at a Waipahu home Friday and arrested at 3 p.m. on suspicion of kidnapping and second-degree robbery.
Man allegedly distraught before vanishing
Police are looking for a 53-year-old Kaneohe man who was last seen Thursday morning.
Police said William Vincent is emotionally distraught and has not been seen or heard from since 8 a.m. Thursday when he was seen leaving his home. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 230 pounds and was last seen wearing a beige shirt and blue surf shorts.
