Yamane, Dashefsky to team up on KHON
KHON-TV weekend anchor Marisa Yamane will join longtime broadcaster Howard Dashefsky as the station debuts a 9 p.m. weekday newscast Sept. 8, according to the station.
Yamane and Dashefsky also will co-anchor the 5 p.m. weekday newscast, while current anchor Kathy Muneno moves to weekends, and Justin Cruz will maintain his weeknight weather anchor duties.
Additionally, KHON announced that recent University of Hawaii broadcast meteorology graduate Kelly Simek will join the station Monday as Wake Up 2day weather anchor, succeeding Kanoe Gibson, who left the show several months ago for family reasons.
Jamba Juice opening at Aston Waikiki
The 15th anniversary of Jamba Juice Hawaii will be marked with grand-opening festivities at its new location in the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 23, customers can enjoy free smoothie samples, free coupons, cultural performances and prize giveaways.
The chain’s 33rd Hawaii store, with a digital mural board that fills a 33-foot-long wall, and a first-of-its-kind digital menu board, is at 2570 Kalakaua Ave. and overlooks Kuhio Beach.
Job fair on tap at Kukui Grove Center
Kukui Grove Center will hold a job fair on Aug. 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m at the Kukui Grove Center Food Court.
This event will feature Kukui Grove Center businesses and new merchants, Ross Dress for Less and Kalapaki Joe’s. The job fair will offer the community an opportunity to discover employment opportunities at the Kauai shopping center.

HomeStreet relocates Hilo loan center
HomeStreet Bank’s Hilo home loan team has moved into a new stand-alone home loan center at 99 Aupuni St. The team was previously housed in the bank branch, at 111 Aupuni St.
The new office will be managed by Angie Warren, who joined HomeStreet Bank in 2013.
In addition to Warren, the home loan team is Randall Church, Lima Naipo, Missy Shimaoka and Jeni Waipa.
Supervalu is latest to suffer data breach
NEW YORK » A data breach at Supervalu may have impacted as many as 200 of its grocery and liquor stores and potentially affected retail chains recently sold by the company in two dozen states.
The announcement lengthens the list of retailers that have had security walls breached in recent months, including Target, P.F. Chang’s and even the thrift store operations of Goodwill Industries International Inc.

>> Mike Donnelly has been named assistant director of admission. He previously retired from the Army after 26 years and was the communications adviser for U.S. Army Pacific at Fort Shafter on Oahu.
>> Aaron Schorn has been named webmaster. He was previously the director of business development and government relations at Wall Street Fund for African Development as well as a strategy and operations program officer at Family Health International in Washington, D.C.
The Japan-America Society of Hawaii has announced that Lenny Yajima will become its president as of Oct. 1. Between 2007 and 2012, she was the president/executive director of
the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii and also held a variety of marketing and sales experience in Hawaii. Yajima has 25 years in the public relations and marketing industry.
