Boy charged in death of Waipahu man
Police on Wednesday arrested a 16-year-old boy wanted in connection with the death of a 28-year-old Waipahu man Aug. 4.
The teenager was arrested Wednesday morning. Prosecutors charged him later Wednesday with second-degree assault and third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs.
Police said victim was injured during an altercation at 12:25 a.m. Aug. 4 in Waipahu and died shortly upon arrival at the hospital.
He was identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as MC Eis.
The Medical Examiner’s Office said Eis died of blunt impact to the head and a penetrating injury to the torso.
Homeless suspect indicted in stabbing
An Oahu grand jury indicted a 64-year-old homeless man for allegedly stabbing a woman in Kailua last week
William Esper is charged with second-degree attempted murder in the attack on a 43-year-old woman on Aug. 16.
Esper allegedly stabbed the woman with an "edged weapon" at 1:25 p.m. on Oneawa Street, according to police.
Esper, who also goes by the name of William Vonesper, was indicted Tuesday. He remains in jail, unable to post bail of $200,000.
Esper’s criminal record mainly includes misdemeanor criminal property damage convictions, beginning in 1994. His only felony conviction was in 2000 for second-degree criminal property damage.
City IDs motorcyclist killed in crash
A 23-year-old man killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday near Aloha Tower has been identified as Johnathan Tyau of Ewa Beach.
The cause of death was blunt force trauma to his neck and torso, the Medical Examiner’s Office said. The case is classified as accidental.
Police said Tyau was in the Ewa-bound lanes at 2:19 a.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle, struck the median curb and a signpost, and landed in bushes in the median near the Punchbowl Street intersection with Ala Moana Boulevard. Tyau, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Excessive speed may have been a factor in the accident, police said.
