A surf group says there are safety problems at certain breaks on Oahu’s South Shore.

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources will host a public forum Wednesday on a proposed one-year pilot project in which stand-up paddleboarders would be banned during certain hours from designated surf breaks along Oahu’s South Shore.
