Woman pleads guilty to damaging palace
A Honolulu woman has pleaded guilty to vandalizing Iolani Palace after she kicked the front door of the historic building earlier this year.
Drew Paahau pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal property damage and second-degree burglary, State Attorney General David Louie said Tuesday.
The 22-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for the first charge. She could go to prison for up to five years and be fined as much as $10,000 for the second charge.
Her sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 14.
Louie says Paahau significantly damaged an antique etched glass panel when she kicked a front door of the palace in February.
