New coaches for UH runners, throwers
The University of Hawaii track and field and cross-country teams added new assistant coaches.
Head coach Carmyn James announced on Thursday that Tim Boyce will serve as cross-country and distance coach, while Josh Aydlette will mentor the throwers.
Boyce comes to UH from Pacific University (Ore.), where he was head coach of the men’s and women’s track and field and cross-country teams. During his seven-year tenure, Boyce coached three runners to the NCAA Division III Championship and seven Northwest Conference track and field champions.
Aydlette spent the past decade as throws coach at his alma mater, Charleston Southern (S.C.), where he was inducted into the school’s hall of fame in 2011.
Aydlette’s throwers broke nearly 20 school records and earned 35 Big South all-conference honors.
