St. Francis hires Konishi and Eldredge to run athletics
Former University of Hawaii pitching coach Chad Konishi and former Maryknoll baseball coach Duane Eldredge have been named co-athletic directors at St. Francis, the school announced on Monday.
Konishi is a Punahou and California graduate who spent 12 years as the top assistant to UH head baseball coach Mike Trapasso. Eldredge is also a Punahou graduate and has a master’s degree in administration and curriculum from Gonzaga. He has coached baseball, football and basketball on the varsity levels.

Jayce Bantolina
Campbell receiver
Finished 2 yards shy of the school record by catching nine balls for 170 yards and two touchdowns in a 14-13 win over Kapolei. Bantolina has scored a touchdown in each of the Sabers’ four games this season and went over 100 yards receiving for the first time this year. He has had a game over the century mark at least once in each of the past three years.

The 5-foot, 10-inch outside hitter put down 10 kills in a sweep of Waiakea and led the team with seven in another sweep of Kohala. She has led the Warriors in kills in every match except one, including a season-high of 12 against Honokaa. The senior was No. 11 on the Star-Advertiser’s volleyball Fab 15 last year.

» Tua Tagovailoa, Saint Louis: The quarterback was 15-for-16 for 354 yards and five touchdowns in a 55-20 win over ‘Iolani.
» Jensen McDaniel, Kaiser: Running back was held under 100 yards for the first time this season but scored five touchdowns on 12 carries for 88 yards in a 51-14 win over McKinley.
» Kalakaua Timoteo, Mililani: The receiver averaged more than 40 yards a catch, finishing with 165 receiving yards on four receptions with a touchdown in a 56-14 win over Aiea.
» Montana Liana, Farrington: The quarterback threw for a career-high 216 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-7 win over Kailua. It was the highest yardage output for a Farrington quarterback since Dayton Kealoha threw for 235 against Punahou in 2008.
» Micah Kanehailua, Kamehameha-Hawaii: The quarterback threw for five touchdowns and 374 yards with no interceptions in a win over Kealakehe. He was 24-for-38, with three of his misses coming on dropped passes.
» Jordan Bayudan, Kamehameha: The running back rushed for three touchdowns in a 33-6 win over Damien.

» Jojo Kruize, Moanalua: The outside hitter led Na Menehune with seven kills in a win over Farrington.
