Following a rough early-season stretch, Kalei Adolpho enters her final Big West volleyball season on a serious upswing.
After opening her senior season with eight kills in 15 attacks against Ohio, Adolpho hit .094 (27 kills, 19 errors) over the next six matches. She’s bounced back since to hit .450 with 28 kills and just five errors in UH’s four-match run.
"I’m glad I had a couple of good games coming into the conference, it’s encouraging," Adolpho said. "I know there’s a long way to go and lots more to improve on, but it definitely helps when you see some kind of light at the end."
She’s remained one of the Big West’s blocks leaders with 1.10 per set and her kill numbers were boosted by her most efficient weekend of the season. She hammered 14 kills in 23 swings with just one error in back-to-back sweeps of Northern Arizona.
The Rainbow Wahine open the Big West schedule with matches at UC Davis on Friday and UC Riverside on Saturday.
