HPU goes 5 to top Chaminade in volleyball

Pomai Recca and Kasey Thompson had 15 kills apiece to lead Hawaii Pacific to a 25-23, 25-21, 17-25, 23-25, 15-11 victory over Chaminade in a Pacific West Conference women’s volleyball match at McCabe Gym.

Tenika Wentworth had 33 assists and 11 digs for the Sharks (3-6, 1-2). Cassie Rushlow had 15 kills for the Silverswords (7-6, 0-3).

» Shih Ting Chen had 24 kills and Elizabeth Blake Solaita had 40 assists to lift Brigham Young-Hawaii (6-3, 3-0) to a 25-19, 25-17, 25-14 win over UH Hilo at Cannon Activities Center in Laie. The Vulcans are 3-3, 2-1.
