While Tuesday’s weather was a repeat of Monday’s, the National Weather Service forecasts better weather Wednesday, and no chance of thunderstorms.

Oahu will likely see improving conditions Wednesday, but it "may cloud up with rain," said Weather Service forecaster Norman Hui. "The heavier stuff should be over."

An upper-level, low-pressure system that has been close to the island was keeping the air unstable.

The National Weather Service had issued a flood warning for Oahu until 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, particularly for Hono­lulu and Windward Oahu, but it was quickly canceled.

Some locally heavy rainfall, with some thunder and lightning, hit Hono­lulu on Tuesday.

The downpours moved from Oahu’s west side to Hono­lulu and Windward regions.

Particularly vulnerable were areas from Hawaii Kai to Aiea and Windward Oahu, including Kai­lua, Kane­ohe and Kaha­luu, the Weather Service said.

John Cummings, spokes­man for the Department of Emergency Management, said the agency received no reports of problems, and a check across Oahu revealed no requests for assistance.

"It’s clearing pretty rapidly," he said Tuesday night.

At about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, Hui noticed a cell producing rain was not moving over a section of Hono­lulu.

West Oahu was under a flood advisory Tuesday that was canceled.

Also Tuesday, Kauai was under a flash flood warning that also was canceled.
